Hi all
Yes, we open this week. Am I scared? No,I'm terrified . My husband tells work mates, he has a shocking secret. He is now sleeping with Kevin Rudd, which is me ofcourse.
Well rehearsals are tighter and we are finding more and more humour in little ways but I'm still terrified. And now for something completely different. A picture of Bill Shorten MP as he appears in the play. He is a Labor Power blob and one of 2dummies in the play. The dummies have non speking roles,incase you're wondering. Sorry it's on its side. Don't know how to straighten.

Starts at 8.oo at Imperial Hotel, Erskineville and the drag show starts at 10.30 so u can stay for that and dance. Oh if u come other dates u pay ten dollars and I get the money which helps to reimburse me my costs but if u can't pay come anyway

Well, we have had 2 rehearsals with new director, Fiona Pulford, and she is good. She likes Kamlet alot. I think our show will be Ok after all. Suck eggs James, old Kamlet, Shakespeare will not die just cause u walked out on us. Think I'll get another Kev photo to celebrate.

Hi bored people with not much to do.... well you're looking at this site.
As u know our lead male actor just racked off a few days ago causing mayhem, confusion and anger for the rest of the cast. I have no ill feelings ofcouse, I'm too middle class for that, but if a nestful of vital, pro-creating cockroaches invade his undies, I'll be happy. AND NOW TO THE GOOD NEWS. WE HAVE A NEW DIRECTOR for KAMLET. Someone who has done some work with Sydney Theatre Company no less. Her name is Fiona Pulford and she sounds good. Keep u posted. I better check on spelling. Feel so relieved, think I'll retieve another Kev foto. Someone in the Labor Party took 30 promo cards for her staff from Eulalie who plays the Convenor of the Families of the Suicide Bombers convention. Amazing.

Disastet strikes Kamlet, the show.

Kamlet has pulled out for no reason that makes sense to anyone. I got his email at midnite. I have sent him an SMS and email begging him not to do this as it could well be the end of the show. Three weeks is not really enough time to find and train the lead actor to play Kevin Rudd. What is wrong with people under 30. They have no sense of responsibity to others and they seem to live in this unreal world where no one has to do the hard yards and all must suit them. No use complaining is there. If we start show on 3rd March,put it back a week, maybe we can proceed but have not spoken to Imperial yet so do not know how they will react. They have been very good so far but even so........

Stay for the beautiful drag queens in the Abba and Priscilla shows after Kamlet.
Well, it is a fitting that a play about tricky politics should have to negotiate a few political hurdles of its own. Kamlet is the first non- gay play to appear at the Imperial pub in Erskineville since forever. And I want to keep good relationships with the gay community so I have now revised the posters for my play to encourage the audience to stay for the Drag shows after Kamlet. If u like dancing, you'll like the drags shows and if if u like glittery eye make up u may never want to leave.

Hi all groovers
At last rehearsals are going well. It's turning into a bit of group effort with everyone kicking in ideas to make 'Kamlet' crazier. We now have two half dummies playing 2 significant characters and one of the dummies, present at the Suicide Bombers convention,is wearing a nice green head scarf tied in a knot on its head as if it has a dummie tooth ache.

Well this has been one hell of a play for getting actors. Sydney is full of unemployed actors and I have a good track record putting on plays but do u think I can get any of them for Kamlet?. Maybe it is just meant to be. I do have some good actors so they will just have to take on some more minor roles. Also looking for some Belly dancers, who I will pay and would love to get some drag queens to do it. Will ask tonight when I see them at the Imperial . The play is on at the Imperial pub in Erskineville on 24 25 26 Feb and 3 4 5 11 12 March.

Hi all
Well in 8 weeks Kamlet will open. Thank God this is just a one act play as we have barely begun rehearsals and only just started on publicity. I seem to have trouble holding cast as well. At least 3 have pulled out and I am going to need some minor characters who scream alot. The 'two for one'advance purchase cards are looking great with Kevin Rudd a cross between a shabby ghost and a weird doll. Gee, I could be dieing somewhere in some awful place rather than putting on plays so no more complaining.

How to keep writing

There's nothing like a bit of pressure to keep you writing. I am going to enter a University Theatre Grotto so have to have my piece, Act 1, ready in two weeks. It helps to have this kind of deadline as long as it is not unreasonable.
